Human beings have always tried to blame others for their mistakes. Weather or God or Lady Luck. We have many things on which to put our blame. Now biotechnology has offered us another thing to share our blame. GENES

Being accused for bad driving:

Blame it on variant of the gene encoding the protein brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF).BDNF keeps memory strong by supporting communication among brain cells and keeping them functioning optimally. The variant gene limits the availability of a protein. People with this particular gene variant performed more than 20 percent worse on a driving test than people without it. 

Being accused for your anorexic eating habits:

 Blame it on the variant gene for serotonin receptors. These receptors help to determine appetite. This variant results in a overproduction of serotonin, so that people are in a continual state of acute stress This anxiety is often quelled by starvation. According to study by doctors at the Maudsley Hospital in London people with this variant gene are twice more likely to develop anorexic eating habits

Feeling violent:

 Blame it on violent gene (monoamine oxidase A). It codes for a brain enzyme which helps clean up neurotransmitters after their function. Low-expression of the MAOA gene is linked to violent tendencies. In a study using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and DNA analysis, researchers found among 142 people that those with the low-expressing version of MAOA were more impulsive leading to their violent actions.

Always listening to bad advice:

 Blame it on the COMT gene. This impacts the neurotransmitter dopamine which functions in the prefrontal cortex. Individuals with a variant of this gene ignored the bad advice nearly 70% of the time.

Of course! All these genes are susceptible to variations in the environment according to the study. But hey! Blame it on the gene for changing their function according to the environment.
